Why the default setup in Monday CRM is a trap for the unwary...

You installed Monday CRM and just ran with the default setup because..it's designed to work that way, right?  Only now you're running into all sorts of issues, you're missing key features and functionality and you're realising that the default setup is full of holes...

The Old Way

Connected Columns look pretty - but don't work properly

A lot of users running the default setup in Monday CRM really struggle to connect their Boards and set up effective cross-board Automations.  And it's not their fault.


You know those funky blue Connect Boards Columns in the default Monday CRM Core Boards (think Leads, Deals, Accounts etc)?  Yeah they do look awesome.  But here's the thing - they don't work with many Automation Recipes that normally support Connect Boards Columns.  And, some of them are set up as 1-way connections (and no you can't change them to 2-way).  


In short, the default Connect Boards Columns in Monday CRM make connecting items automatically and setting up cross-board automations a nightmare.

CRM Core Boards Limitations

Can't figure out why you can't duplicate that Board?  Or move it to a different Workspace?  Or even delete it?


Once again, it's not you.  Core Boards in Monday CRM are kind of...special.  They can do things that regular CRM Boards can't do.  But there are a lot of things you CAN'T do with a Core CRM Board that you can do with a regular CRM Board.  


Because the default Monday CRM setup is pretty much all Core Boards, a lot of users struggle with organising their boards and Workspaces the way they want.

My Tasks are here, there and everywhere...

Sick of having to search here there and everywhere to find tasks in Monday CRM?  ("Is it in this Board or that one?  Oh great, I found the Board.  Now, if I only knew which Item it was hidden inside..").


People love subitems.  They look...nifty.  But here's the thing - subitems are seriously limited when it comes to automations, connecting them to other items and transparency.  So why on earth would you manage your tasks as subitems siloed here there and everywhere throughout your account?  


And why would you build a CRM with ZERO task automatons? ( Hello manual busy work!)  

Out of date setup

This default setup remains more or less unchanged since Monday CRM first came out approx. 2022.  But Monday CRM has introduced many killer features since then.  And yet, the default setup acts like they don't exist.  


Take the new "Group By" feature for example - not a single Board View in the entire default setup using Group By to effortlessly organise your Board?  


If you stick with the default Setup in Monday CRM you are leaving killer features and the productivity boost they offer on the table.

My team is constanty overloaded...how do I manage workload?

The default setup comes with ZERO Workload Management features set up and, while it's not super difficult to setup, again the usual approach to workload management in Monday CRM is pretty basic.  (Which is why I came up with my own advanced workload management solution for Monday).

The Solution to all this wasn't easy.  Or even available.  So I built it.
