Monday CRM Done Right (Finally!)
Monday CRM with better features & less baked-in limitations
The default Monday CRM boards are limited and miss out on Monday’s real power. So, I built Monday CRM 2.0 — a smarter, faster system that’s helped my clients save time, money, and hassle. Our CRM 2.0 Kitset installs in minutes, not months — just plug in your integrations and get to work.
What's so bad about the default Monday CRM Setup?
Many of the Connect Boards Columns cannot be used Automation Recipes that normally support Connect Boards Columns. This is a major because "match and connect" and "create & connect" Automation Recipes are some of the most fundamental and essential Automation Recipes available in Monday. It is these Automations that allow you to establish good board structure and minimise manual busy work. Without them....well, let's not go there...
Several Connect Boards Columns that would be really useful if they were 2-way connections are set up as 1-way Connect Boards Columns. (Like the connection between the Activities Board and other Boards). And surprise surprise, you can't change the Core Boards Connect Boards Columns from 1-way to 2-way like you can with "regular" connect boards columns.
Even though the Leads Board is the start of your sales pipeline and therefore kind of a big deal, there are very few automations set up in this Board, not a single Connect Boards Columns and basically zero functionality worth a damn. Yes, you can click the Button column and move a Lead to your Contacts Board but (a) there's no setup to prevent anyone from moving disqualified or closed Leads to Contacts and (b) there is no setup to prevent you creating a duplicate contact if an identical contact already exists in your Contacts Board. Why is the Leads Board set up so badly?
You are meant to qualify Leads before you move them to Contacts, but there are no columns to enter the data used to qualify them and clicking the "Move to contacts" button moves them whether they are qualified or not. To make matters worse, once they arrive in your Contacts Board, you still need to manually mark them as "Qualified".
There is a label in the "Type" status column in the Contacts Board called "Lead" (as well as "Qualified Lead"). So, it seems the idea is that you can/do move unqualified Leads as well as Qualified Leads to the Contacts Board. There is zero functionality setup in the Contacts Board for managing the customer relationship, so why would we move unqualified (or even qualified) Leads to our Contacts Board if there is no advantage in doing so?
There are a bunch of...well...glitches in the default Mpnday CRM setup. Examples; an Automation is set up to set the Status of each new Lead to "New Lead". When you can just name your default Lead Status "New Lead". Why the need to automate this? Also, you are meant to qualify Leads in the Leads Board then qualified Leads get moved to the Contacts Board - where apparently you qualify them again?! Not to mention that it seems that unqualified Leads can also live in your Contacts Board. While most of these glitches aren't major, they are worrying because it almost makes you think that the Core CRM Boards were designed by somebody who doesn't understand even the most basic Monday features (like how to use the default label in a Status Column).
Monday Work Forms is free and it's included and it's Monday's own product. But Monday's form builder has some fundamental limitations that, while they don't seem significant at first, will bite you on the bum down the road. Do yourself a favour, don't use Monday Work Forms, use Fillout Forms (or Jotform or Typeform) instead. Your future self will thank you.
Don't ask me why - after all, the people at Monday are the real Monday experts. So, at first I thought I must just be using Monday CRM wrong. But then I got a bit obsessed (I do that) and did a total deep dive into the default or Core Boards in Monday CRM.
Turns out nope, I wasn't doing it wrong. There are just some really surprising...what's the word...glitches? Oversights? Stupid limitations?...with the Core Boards in Monday CRM.

About Patrick & MondayWiki
Hi, I’m Patrick — the creator of MondayWiki and the builder behind the Monday CRM 2.0 Kitset.
MondayWiki began as a passion project — a free and super-searchable Monday.com knowledge base filled with quick video guides, tips, and solutions to help users solve everyday Monday challenges fast. But as I connected with more users, one thing kept coming up: teams needed ready-to-go solutions, not just tutorials.
That’s what led to the creation of the Monday Kitsets — pre-built, plug-and-play systems designed to save Monday users hours (and maybe a few headaches).
The latest, Monday CRM 2.0, takes everything I’ve learned from the community and my years working as a Monday.com Consultant and packs it into a powerful, flexible Kitset that can be installed in any user's Monday.com account in minutes. It’s built to help you manage relationships, track sales, and grow your business — without getting lost in setup.
The MondayWiki Community is still free and open to everyone — it’s where I continue to share new resources, answer questions, and help users master Monday.com. But if you’re ready to take your Monday CRM Set-up further and faster, the Monday CRM 2.0 Kitset is the best place to start.

What makes us different
Most CRM consultants start by tweaking Monday’s default boards — but those “Core” setups only scratch the surface of what Monday can do. The Monday CRM 2.0 Kitset goes further. It’s a complete, proven framework that unlocks Monday’s full potential — automation-ready, pre-structured for growth, and instantly usable. No long builds, no guesswork — just a rock-solid foundation designed to run your sales and client processes smoothly from day one.
What sets it apart even more is the MondayWiki community — a hands-on space where users share strategies, templates, and insights in real time. Instead of being left alone with a half-baked system or paying consultants every time you hit a snag, you tap into a network of builders who’ve been there before. It’s not just a CRM — it’s a smarter ecosystem built on collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions
About THE MONDAY CRM 2.0 KITSET
When I give your monday account access to the Monday CRM 2.0 Kitset, it becomes available in the Templates Centre in your account. You or I can then add it to any Workspace/s you want in your account. The Kitset installs with all boards and Automations setup and ready to go but it does not install Integrations or Integration Recipes (eg Google Calendar Integration Recipes). Those you need to set up yourself because you have to connect to your own third party tools when you do so.
No, because it would be too much work for me to manually install every update in the account of every user who has installed the Monday Kitset.
Not right now, but maybe at some point in the future. I am planning on publishing a course showing how to set up all the Boards, Automations and Features included in the Kitset. If this is of interest, please email me at support@mondaywiki.com and let me know.
Currently I just have the Monday CRM 2.0 Kitset and the Master Tasks Kitset available. The Master Tasks Kitset also includes my Tasks Board but in addition includes a high level jobs board and a Low level Project Tasks Board template that allows you to manage project specific tasks in project-specific tasks boards while at the same time keeping those project tasks in sync with the matching master tasks in the Master Tasks Board.
