Learn how to track time automatically in Monday

If you want to learn how to track time automatically in monday.com the easy way, check out my "Automatic time tracking" collection on the MondayWiki Community.  It includes 3 super short videos that can have you tracking time automatically in 15 - 30 minutes.

If you are looking for an automatic (or even just effective!) solution to monday CRM time tracking then you are in the right place.

Over the years, I have tried pretty much every time tracking solution you can think of for monday CRM and every time I came back to the same solution; if you set it up right, while not flawless, automatic time tracking in monday CRM – if set up right – with all native features that don’t cost you a cent extra, is still for my money the most effortless, accurate and useful time tracking solution for Monday CRM.

I have found an automatic time tracking setup in Monday CRM that works well for me, helps me to not forget to add billable hours to invoices and also gives me a good overview of where my time is spent – all without me having to even think about time tracking.

I have published numerous blog posts and videos on the topic and you can find them below.

Note that my Youtube channel was recently permanently removed by Youtube (thanks YT!) so I am now hosting all videos on my free MondayWiki Community.  You can join that community for free and most of the content I publish there is free (a lot of it you don’t even need to join the community to access).  But the community does also feature paid memberships that give access to premium content.  There are also some paid products (like my monday.com Kitsets) and posts on the community.  But most of the content is free.

The Ultimate Guide to Time Tracking Monday com (2026 Update)

(Click the above hyperlinked title to open the blog post)

This article breaks down the two native Monday.com Time Tracking features – what they are, how they work and what their limitations are.  Also goes into a couple of simple hacks (like using a Formula Column to reflect tracked time totals so you get a column total for time tracked).

Also has an opt-in link if you want to pre-register for free for my Monday Micro Course on Automatic Time Tracking in Monday.com.  (I will be selling this Micro Course eventually but giving away for free for now).

Note that this post is about “monday.com” but all of the features work exactly the same no matter whether you are using Monday Work Management, Monday CRM or another of monday’s Work OS products.  Ie this post is relevant for monday crm time tracking even though it talks about “monday.com” and not “monday CRM”.

My Unorthodox (but Very Effective) Automatic Monday.com Time Tracking System

This blog post contains a link to a video (hosted on the MondayWiki community) that will walk you through how to set up automatic time tracking in Monday CRM.

The text in this post is pretty weak sauce, you will want to watch the video for proper step-by-step instructions.  I may record a detailed text only step-by-step guide at some point if enough people hound me about it.

Stop Wasting Time; Why Your Monday Time Tracker Isn’t Working (And a Better Solution)

Video on this blog post is dead (because Youtube permanently removed my Youtube channel where the video was hosted) but I will replace it ASAP.

This blog post goes into detail about the flaws of the native time tracking features in monday.com.
