There are a few unique things about Monday CRM Core Boards that you need to be aware of before you create them in Monday CRM.
(If you are unsure what a Core Board is and what the differences are between a Core Board and a “regular” Monday CRM Board are, I will do another detailed post on that ASAP. But for now, know that the Boards called “Contacts”, “Deals”, “Leads”, “Accounts”, “Client Projects”, “Activities” are all Core Boards. Not sure about the relatively new “Products & Services” – will get back to you on that one).

You can’t move Core Boards between Workspaces in Monday CRM. The only way you could get a Core Board from one Workspace to another would be to save the original board as a template and create a new Board using that template in the new Workspace.
-
Monday CRM is designed so that each Workspace only has one of each type of Core Board in each Workspace. While it is possible to create, for example, a second Deals Board in the same Workspace as your first Deals Board, Monday CRM isn’t designed to work this way and I would avoid it if at all possible. Ie create your second Deals Board in another Workspace instead.

When using the Monday mobile app, if you open a Core CRM Board, you get a handy little menu at the bottom of your screen that allows you to quickly open one of several Core Boards. If you rename a Core Board (eg renaming “Deals” to “Enquiries”) then the new name will be reflected in this menu. Note that the menu only shows 4 Boards and which Boards are shown seems to vary depending upon which Core Board you are in at the time.

You can’t get rid of your Main Workspace ever. (Your main Workspace is the first default Workspace that was created when you signed up to Monday originally). So, if you add all your Core CRM Boards to another Workspace then decide you don’t need 2 Workspaces, you will have to recreate your Core Boards in your Main Workspace and delete the second Workspace.
Because of all these reasons, it is super important that BEFORE you set up any Core CRM Boards you answer the following questions;
-
How many of each Core CRM Board am I likely to need? (Remember that only the Leads and Deals Boards have the Funnel Stages Widget which is super handy not just for sales pipeline but for any sort of key workflow with well defined milestones/stages).
-
Which Workspaces should I create my Core Boards in – in such a way that I don’t have more than one of any one type of Core CRM Board in the same Workspace
-
Will I or my team ever use the Monday mobile app?
