Why I created the MondayWiki Community

Let’s face it, there are a gazillion communities and resources out there, both official and unofficial, related to Monday.com.

There are soooo many videos, online courses, review articles and how to guides out there on Youtube, Facebook Groups, Linkedin and Monday’s official community.

So, why did I start yet another community for Monday.com?

(For the record, before I answer that I want to clarify one thing; the MondayWiki Community is not just another community; it also serves as a community-driven knowledge base for Monday.com).

I created the MondayWiki Community because (wait for it)…

Monday users can’t find the solutions they need easily – sometimes ever

The search features on those other platforms are lacking, making it difficult to locate what you need.

Due to the ineffective search functionality, you often have to sift through a lot of unnecessary information and learning just to find the answer to your specific question, which may not even be relevant to your needs.

Numerous users, particularly in Facebook Groups, often ask questions but fail to update others with their findings.

As a result, the subsequent individual with the same question is unable to discover the answer and must go through that procedure again.

This cycle continues endlessly… what a pointless use of time and energy!

Information on those other platforms (unlike MondayWiki) isn’t genuinely driven by the community, leading to it often being outdated, incomplete, biased, or simply incorrect.

I launched 🚀 mondaywiki.com because there was a significant shortage of high-quality communities and educational 📚 resources that could help people effectively learn and master Monday.com.

Absolutely, there are numerous Facebook groups, but they are filled with promotional content, bots, and AI-generated responses that are often incorrect or nonsensical. Despite the abundance of YouTube how-to videos and official support documents available for Monday, the vast amount of information scattered across various platforms makes it difficult for new users to locate the answers they seek.

SO WHAT’S THE ISSUE WITH MOST MONDAY COMMUNITIES AND RESOURCES?

NEEDLE. HAYSTACK. CHECK! ✅

Due to poor search capabilities on these other platforms it’s almost impossible to find the information you need when you need it. 🐢. And even if you DO find it, it’s going to take waaaaaay too long. (Do I need to remind you that you’ve already got too much to do and not enough time to do it?).

Picture this; there’s a Facebook Group Post about Monday that is super relevant to a challenge you are facing but you aren’t the author of the post. You’ve commented maybe even replied to other comments once or twice and now you want to find that Facebook Post again to see if anybody has provided a solution to the poster’s problem (which is the same or very similar to your problem). Only problem is, do you think you can find that Post again? It has seemingly vanished, swallowed by the every hungry Interwebs.

Biased, SPAM, AI garbage or just plain wrong ⚖

Even if somebody does provide a “solution” to your question, there’s a good chance the solution is biased, SPAM, AI-generated garbage or human-but-just-plain-wrong.

A lot of the solutions I see provided on various Monday Facebook Groups fall into the following categories;

  1. Superficially convincing but actually meaningless or wrong AI generated posts from Nigeria-based Go High Level users who seem to be using AI to find and reply to Facebook Group comments without even seeing the post or other comments. (It’s not uncommon to see 2 near identical comments on the same post from 2 GHL spammers).
  2. Monday “Experts” who don’t check their facts and provide definitive solutions that…don’t work. (I’ve even seen the Admin of one popular Monday Facebook Group tell a poster that something isn’t possible in Monday even AFTER I had explained clearly how it is possible. In the end, it was only after I shared a video demo proving it is possible that he relented. And even then his response was “Yes but this is such a specific use case that the solution isn’t relevant”).
  3. Monday support and community Admins are never going to talk about the flaws of the app that we all know about (and drive us crazy). It’s ok for the app to have flaws because every app does. But as soon as you are dealing with people who ignore the bad and focus only on the good, you are dealing with people who don’t have a balanced realistic view of the big picture.
  4. Monday consultants (like me) are almost always going to sell Monday as the snake oil magic cure for your business when the truth is it’s not right for every organisation. No app is.

TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read) ℹ️

A lot of the Monday Online Courses and Youtube Videos out there contain a lot of fluff and information you already know or aren’t interested in. You’re busy doing your job, paying the bills. People don’t finish Online Courses because they commit them to spending a lot of time and learning a whole bunch of information when what they really need is to just learn only the things they need to learn right now. And spend the minimal amount of time doing so. It’s called “High Bang-for-Buck” and none of the other Monday communities and learning resources out there offer it.

RE-INVENTING THE WHEEL 💡🔄

It’s likely that you are not the first individual to pose the question you have or to encounter the challenge you are facing.

😕 It’s possible that someone, or even multiple people, have already asked that question and discovered the answer before you.

That’s why it’s so pointless to waste time trying to come up with a solution from scratch when you can’t find the answer. 🕐🗑️

ALL TALK AND NO ACTION🗣️🙅‍♀️

Many Monday courses and Youtube videos are all talk no action. They teach you in abstracts without any relevance to your organisation, industry or use case. And there are no practical exercises that (a) help reinforce the learning and (b) actually help you improve your Monday systems.

Ultimately, what is the purpose of all this education if it doesn’t lead to tangible enhancements for your processes or your small business?

These are the reasons I established the MondayWiki Community & Community-Powered Knowledge Base

If you’re seeking genuine answers to your Monday questions in this lifetime, free from sales pitches or misleading “solutions”, I encourage you to become part of our small but expanding community at https://mondaywiki.mn.co/share/RbV8GpqLl5cYq-8v?utm_source=manual
